3 Dec – Imagine this: You, a kid in the '90s, watching Kevin McCallister setting up pranks around his house on "Home Alone" and thinking, that's a really great house! Well, Airbnb recently announced that it is renting out the "Home Alone" house this month for one night of hijinks. "Celebrate the season McCallister-style, ya filthy animals," read the post on Airbnb's Instagram account. "For the first time ever, one crew of mischief makers can book a holiday in the timeless house where the Home Alone story began (without the interruption of pesky intruders)."
Located in Chicago, Illinois, guests will also be hosted by Kevin's older brother Buzz McCallister. Devin D. Ratray, who played the role of Buzz, stated, "Though we're older and wiser now (I've even got my own security firm), we're never too old for holiday hijinks. So, while we're away on vacation (all of us, this time), I'm inviting one crew of mischief makers to let their inner eight-year-olds run free in my childhood home on Dec. 12." The house will be available for booking starting on 7 December for only USD 25, with lucky guests to spend their night there on 12 December.
Among other things, according to Airbnb, guests will get to set booby traps, and be treated to Chicago's finest pizza and "a meet and greet with a real-life tarantula". The company also stated that it will make a one-time donation to Chicago's La Rabida Children's Hospital "in honour of the first-ever stay at the McCallister home".
