20 Dec - Now that he has been officially confirmed to helm the sequel to his hit Marvel first Asian superhero movie, "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings", Destin Daniel Cretton revealed that he actually has a certain someone whom he dreams of having in the sequel.
In an interview with CinemaBlend, the filmmaker, who was able to get Hong Kong award-winning actor Tony Leung Chiu Wai to star in the first film, stated that he would love to get the action star of kung fu movies himself to be a part of the second one. "I mean, if we could ever get Jackie [Chan] into a movie, that would be a lifelong dream of mine," said Cretton. "Yeah, let's put it out there."
Cretton has never shielded away from expressing his love for Jackie. It is known that the action choreography in "Shang-Chi" was also inspired by Jackie's classic movies like "Police Story" and "Project A". This can be seen through Simu Liu making a specific move during the city bus sequence early in the film. On the other hand, nothing has been confirmed about the sequel, except that there will be one.
