9 Feb – Jennifer Lopez's upcoming romantic-comedy "Marry Me" starring Owen Wilson unfortunately will not be released this year. According to Universal, the film - which was originally scheduled to be released on the big screen on Valentine's Day this year - has been postponed to 11 February next year; taking the slot from another Universal movie which has yet to be announced. The music-infused movie, which is packed with original songs by Lopez and Latin singer Maluma, is based on Bobby Crosby's graphic novel of the same name. The story centres on a pop superstar (Lopez) who finds out that her rock star fiancé (Maluma) is cheating on her just moments before marrying him at Madison Square Garden. After a massive public melt-down, she then proceeded to pick out a random man who happens to be a divorced maths teacher (Owen Wilson) from the crowd to marry instead.
The movie is directed by Kat Coiro ("Life Happens", "Brooklyn 99"). On the other hand, Universal also revealed that it will be releasing a Blumhouse movie on 28 January 2022, though it gave no further details about the project.
