25 Aug – Netflix recently announced that the upcoming Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence-starrer, "Don't Look Up" is set to be released in time for Christmas. The new movie, which is the latest from "The Big Short" director Adam McKay, stars DiCaprio and Lawrence as two low-level astronomers who go on a tour to try to warn the world that a comet is on the way to destroy earth. In a previous interview, McKay explained that the film was originally made as a criticism against the climate change deniers, but that the pandemic has changed the film's focus.
"What [the pandemic] did was bring out what the movie is really about, which is how we communicate with each other. We can't even talk to each other anymore. We can't even agree. So it's about climate change, but at its root it's about what has the internet, what have cellphones, what has the modern world done to the way we communicate," he said. Aside from the two Academy Awards winners, the movie also boasts a star-studded cast that include Jonah Hill, Rob Morgan, Ron Perlman, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Cate Blanchett, Meryl Street, Matthew Perry, Chris Evans, and Paul Guilfoyle. The movie will be streaming on Netflix beginning 24 December.
