3 Jun – Sophie Turner is set to make her comeback to HBO through the upcoming mini-series, "The Staircase" alongside Colin Firth. The said eight-parter is based on the true story of Michael Peterson, who was convicted of killing his wife in 2001 after telling the authorities that she fell down the stairs. The actress, most known for her role as Sansa Stark on "Game of Thrones", will be playing the role of Margaret Ratfliff - one of Peterson's adopted daughters who is convinced of Peterson's innocence despite the fact that her own mother was also found dead at the bottom of a staircase. Turner's last project with HBO was "Game of Thrones", which concluded in 2019.
On the other hand, Colin Firth will be playing the role of Michael Peterson, with co-stars that include Toni Collete, Juliette Binoche, Rosemarie DeWitt and Parker Posey. No news as to when the series will be aired. Turner's last film was the 2019 X-Men movie, "Dark Phoenix".
