7 Apr – After much speculations on whether or not his character Rocky Balboa will return on "Creed III", it was revealed that Sylvester Stallone will not be involved in the production. The actor's rep confirmed this recently, stating that the actor will not take part in the third instalment of the said "Rocky" spin-off, though no additional explanation was given. It is noted that Stallone himself previously responded to a fan's question about his involvement in the project while promoting Discover+'s movie, "Resurrection", writing, "It will be done but I won't be in it. Keep punching." This news was no surprise to many, seeing that "Creed II" previously indicated the end of Rocky's journey with titular character Adonis (played by Michael B. Jordan) as he chose to travel to Vancouver to reunite with his estranged son following Creed's rematch with Viktor Drago.
However, it is noted that Stallone has not actually left the franchise for good. The actor previously shared a treatment for a "Rocky" prequel TV series that he was writing and hoped would be picked up by a streaming platform. "Creed III" will be directed by Jordan himself in his first directorial effort. Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad will reprise their roles as Bianca and Mary Anne Creed.
