6 Oct – Among the many celebrities who rallied behind Shah Rukh Khan over the arrest of his son Aryan Khan in a recent drug raid, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi went one step ahead and expressed her belief that the 23 year-old was being targeted. Speaking in an interview, Suchitra, who worked with SRK in "Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa", said that there must be a lapse of security on the cruise. "A family member of mine owns a cruise, so I've been on several cruises. I know that there are several rounds of security checks, metal detectors that one has to go through, their luggage is also checked. So, I don't understand how this breach of security even happened. Which is why I feel it's some kind of targeting, there's malice. It can't be just this bunch of eight kids," she said.
As for some who has been silent about the issue, Suchitra stated that some celebrities only want to associate with only the good and happy stuff and stay away from the bad. "I cannot stay quiet, if something bothers me, I will speak up. It takes a lot of guts to take a stand." Back on 3 October, the actress took to Twitter to express her support for Aryan and SRK, writing, "Nothing harder for a parent than seeing their child in distress. Prayers to all." She also responded to critics, saying that there has been a lot of NCB raids on Bollywood stars that ended with nothing. "Bollywood gawking is a tamasha. It's the price of fame," she added. On the other hand, Sussanne Khan's ex-wife also expressed her support for Aryan, saying that SRK's eldest is a good kid. "He was unfortunately at the wrong place at the wrong time. This situation is being made an example to drive the excitement that some people get as they have a witch hunt on people from Bollywood," she wrote. Aryan, who was arrested along with seven others following a raid on a cruise last weekend, has been remanded in NCB custody until 7 October.
