14 Sep – Malaysia's two biggest cinema chains, TGV and GSC have recently announced the dates of their reopening. On 13 September, GSC Cinemas posted on its official social media accounts that they will reopen some of their locations on 16 September, including GSC Mid Valley, GSC 1 Utama, and GSC Alamanda Putrajaya in the Klang Valley, GSC Gurney Plaza in the northern region, and GSC Paradigm Mall JB in the southern region. It also added, "More locations will reopen on 23 September! Stay tuned for movie line-ups!"
On the other hand, TGV Cinemas released a press statement saying that they are now working towards welcoming moviegoers from 23 September. "The decision was made after consultation with movie studios who are working on seeking local censorship approvals for their movies," the cinema chain stated. "Cinemagoers can expect an exciting line-up of major releases in conjunction with TGV's reopening including Black Widow, Jungle Cruise, No Time To Die and many more in the month of September." TGV also added several titles and its release dates on its social media accounts, including Marvel's "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" as well as "Dune".
