3 May – Vin Diesel recently revealed that the upcoming "Fast and Furious" movie, "F9" will feature the origin story of his character, Dominic Toretto.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly recently, the actor stated the movie will be extra special to fans of the franchise, as they will get to see some moments before the events of the first film.

Said Diesel, "If you can remember the first movie, you are now going to go before the first movie and understand the first movie even more... that's cool stuff. I'm a [Dungeons & Dragons] head, so that's like origins stuff. To see family members you never thought you would have seen – it's gonna kind of blow your mind."

"We've been wanting to know: where was Dom before he became Dom? Who were his influences? That's going to be really rich with story, and a lot of fun to see," he added.

John Cena stars in "F9" as Dominic's brother Jakob Toretto

However, Diesel stressed that "F9" is not a prequel.

It is noted that Dom's estranged brother Jakob is going to show up in "F9", a character that will be played by former WWE champion, John Cena. From the trailer of the movie, it is apparent that the two have quite a bit of tension; and hopefully the movie will reveal the reason behind the hostility.

The upcoming movie is set to be released on 24 June.
