11 Oct - "Abang Long Fadil 3" is now the highest grossing action-comedy movie in Malaysia, surpassing the previous record made in 2017 by predecessor, "Abang Long Fadil 2". The news was shared by director Syafiq Yusof on social media, writing, "Thank you Malaysia for your support. Praise be to God, "Abang Long Fadil 3" has earned RM 24 million at the box office to-date." It is noted that the previous sequel made RM18.4 million at the box office five years ago.
"This film is still being shown and I hope that more viewers will go to the cinema to watch it with their family and friends," he said in an interview. Asked if there will be movie number four, Syafiq said that the plan is still in discussion between his father's Skop Productions with Astro Shaw. "For now, I want to focus on my latest film, "Police Evo 3". It may be shown in early or middle of next year," he added.
