25 Feb – The Indian Supreme Court has recently suggested that the producers of the controversial movie, "Gangubai Kathiawadi" to change the title of the movie, following its latest legal trouble.

The suggestion came after a Congress MLA Amin Patel filed a petition in Bombay High Court to change the name of the film, accusing it of misrepresenting Kamathipura as a red-light district, while also showing Kathiawadi community in a bad light.

Prior to Amin Patel, the family of Gangubai Harjivandas sued the filmmakers for what they described as a misrepresentation of their mother as a prostitute, whom they said was a social activist.

On the other hand, Alia Bhatt, the star of the said movie, seemed unperturbed by all the controversies.

"Neither any controversy nor any comment bothers me. I don't think anything bothers me beyond a point," said the actress, in an interview with ANI. "Of course, I feel like there's a certain novelty that just a part of a film holds... whether the film is a good film or a bad film... that doesn't matter. The audience makes the final decision after watching the film..."

"Anything that happens before or after can't really change the fate," she added.

This is not the first time that a Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie was made to change its names. "Padmaavat" was originally titled "Padmavati" before the censor board asked the director to change the name.

"Gangubai Kathiawadi" is based on the book "Mafia Queens of Mumbai" written by S. Hussain Zaidi, which is said to be based on the true story of Gangubai Harjivandas, popularly known as Gangubai Kothewali.
