19 Jan – Andrew Garfield recently revealed that the fans and the media were not the only ones he had to lie to about his appearance in "Spider-Man: No Way Home".

He also lied to his ex-girlfriend and best pal, Emma Stone.

The actor shared this cute story in an interview with Josh Horowitz on his "Happy, Sad, Confused" podcast, saying that the actress asked him several times as to whether he was going to be in the said superhero flick.

"Emma kept on texting me. She was like, 'Are you in this new Spider-Man film?' And I was like, 'I don't know what you're talking about. She was like shut up just tell me and I was like I honestly don't know...' I kept it going, even with her, it was hilarious," he said.

He stated that he continued on with the lie until his ex-girlfriend found out about it finally after watching the movie.

"And then she saw it, she was like, 'you're a jerk'," he said with a laugh.

Emma Stone played Gwen Stacy in "The Amazing Spider-Man" and its sequel

It is noted that Garfield and Stone starred in both "The Amazing Spider-Man" and its sequel back in the early 2010s, with Stone playing Gwen Stacy to Garfield's Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

The two also dated for a while, but ended the relationship in 2015, a year after the release of the said sequel. However, both stars admitted to still be good friends with one another.

"I'm her biggest fan as an artist. I'm constantly inspired by her work. I'm constantly inspired by how she handles and holds herself," said Garfield about the actress. "We care about each other so much, and that's a given, that's kind of this unconditional thing. There's so much love between us and so much respect ... It's also been wonderful to have that kind of support for each other. It's nothing but a beautiful thing."

Stone is now married to SNL director Dave McCary and welcomed their first child Louis Jean together last year. Meanwhile, Garfield is now reportedly dating model Alyssa Miller.

As we know, Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy didn't survive in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2"
