29 Nov – Antonio Banderas has no qualms returning as his famous hero character Zorro, as long as he can use the movie to pass on the torch to a new Zorro. Which he also hopes to be Tom Holland, for some reason. Speaking to ComicBook about the possibility of a third Banderas Zorro movie, the actor said, "I said something like that to somebody. They asked me about Zorro. If they called me to do Zorro, I would do what Anthony Hopkins did for me, which is to pass the torch."
Asked who he thinks would be a good Zorro, Banderas named "Spider-Man" star Tom Holland, who is neither American nor Spaniard. "I did Uncharted with him, and he's so energetic and fun, and he's got this spark too," Banderas said about Holland. "Why not?" Banderas last appeared in 2005's "The Legend of Zorro", playing the character Alejandro Murietta, who in previous movie replaced the original Zorro, Don Diego de la Vega (Anthony Hopkins). It is noted that back in 2016, director Jonas Cuaron stated that he plans to reboot Zorro with Gael Garcia Bernal in the lead.
