28 Feb – Jerry Bruckheimer, known for many blockbuster movies such as "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "National Treasure", is looking to produce a movie based on the popular toy franchise, Beyblade. The upcoming project, which will be under Paramount Pictures' banner, will be written by Neil Widener and Gavin James, who are both also working on "Now You See Me 3" and "San Andreas 2". Plot details are currently kept under wraps.
First released in 1999 by Japanese firm Taraka, Beyblade is a spinning top toy series that is said to be the biggest competitor of Pokemon, and has inspired manga, anime and comics series based around a Beyblade fighting tournament. Bruckheimer's most recent project is producing "Top Gun: Maverick" and the superhero movie, "Secret Headquarters", both to be released in May and August, respectively.
