12 Oct – Legendary actress Dame Angela Lansbury has recently passed away. The news was shared by her family via an official statement that read, "The children of Dame Angela Lansbury are sad to announce that their mother died peacefully in her sleep at home in Los Angeles at 1:30 AM today, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, just five days shy of her 97th birthday." The actress, most known for the long-running show "Murder, She Wrote", also starred in movies like "The Manchurian Candidate", "Gaslight", "The Picture of Dorian Gray", as well as voicing the character of Mrs Potts in Disney's animated feature, "Beauty and the Beast".
She was also nominated for an Oscar three times, and was one of the last surviving stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood cinema. Stars took to social media to mourn her passing. George Takei posted, "Angela Lansbury, who graced the stage for decades winning five Tony awards and brought the sleuthing Jessica Fletcher into our living rooms for a dozen years, has passed. A tale old as time, our beloved Mrs. Potts will sing lullabies to us now from the stars. Rest, great soul." Kristin Chenoweth posted, "Nobody did Mame quite like her. Rest in peace, Angela Lansbury. Thank you for your art & wisdom." She was 96.
