10 May – Marvel's "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" is starting off strong at the box office.

The film grossed over USD 185 million in its debut in the US, and USD 264 million globally, making it the second highest opening number in the pandemic era with a total of almost USD 450 million.

That also means that the film is the seventh biggest opening for a Marvel film, behind other titles like "Avengers: Age of Ultron" (USD 191.3 million), "Spider-Man: No Way Home" (USD 260.1 million) and "Avengers: Endgame" (USD 357.1 million).

It is also the second biggest domestic release of this year, lost only to "The Batman", which has grossed USD 369.1 million to date.

"Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" picks up after "Spider-Man: No Way Home", with the titular sorcerer helping a young girl named America Chavez who can jump across various universes. Other characters that are featured in the film include the Scarlet Witch, Baron Mordo, and Christine Palmer.
