17 Feb – "Ejen Ali: The Movie" is breaking records yet again, becoming the first local film to be translated to Russian and Uzbek for its release in the Republic of Uzbekistan. According to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Media Prima Television Network and PWS, Datuk Khairul Anwar Salleh, the opportunity to screen "Ejen Ali: The Movie" in the country would enable more viewers to enjoy the animated film without language barriers. "The pandemic that hit the whole world in 2020 had a huge impact on the world of entertainment, including the cinema industry. Therefore, through this joint venture, we are very excited that "Ejen Ali: The Movie" can spread its wings to international cinemas," he said. "Our goal is to promote great Malaysian programming content to an international audience. We thank [our partners] Amex Media and World Pictures for this opportunity. The support of fans around the world inspires us. We can't wait to see the reaction of the audience." Meanwhile, Usamah Zaid Yasin, the CEO of WAU Animation and director of the said movie, stated that the opportunity to screen the movie across international cinemas is beyond what he imagined. "We can't wait for the reaction of new fans in Uzbekistan," he said. The movie is hitting the big screens in more than 25 cinemas and seven cities across Uzbekistan. "Ejen Ali: The Movie" made RM30.05 million when it was released in 2019, with a budget of RM6.5 million.
