10 Feb – Andrew Garfield finds it interesting that four "Spider-Man" stars have been nominated at this year's Academy Awards.

The actor, who himself is nominated in the Best Actor category for his role in Lin-Manuel Miranda's directorial effort, "tick, tick...Boom!", shared his amusement in an interview with EW following the announcement.

"How funny it is that? I'm so happy for Kirsten. I think her performance in The Power of the Dog is second to none. And Benedict. Obviously, J.K.. I'm a huge fan. It's a very, very funny thing. It's a cool morning," he said.

It is noted that Kirsten, who is nominated Best Supporting Actress for "The Power of the Dog" played Mary Jane in Sony's "Spider-Man", while Benedict Cumberbatch and J.K. Simmons, who are nominated for "The Power of the Dog" and "Being the Ricardos" are all part of "Spider-Man: No Way Home". Simmons also played the role in the early noughties "Spider-Man".

However, sadly, Marvel's bid to get its superhero movies nominated in the Best Picture category did not succeed, with "Spider-Man: No Way Home" receiving only one nomination in the Visual Effect category.
