12 Jan – In celebration of Hrithik Roshan's 48th birthday (yes, the man is nearing his 50s), the filmmaker duo Puskar and Gayatri recently released the first look of the Bollywood actor as Vedha in the upcoming Bollywood remake, "Vikram Vedha". On 10 January, the husband and wife tweeted a photo of Hrithik looking all greased up good as the gangster Vedha, and wrote, "Here's wishing [Hrithik Roshan] a very happy birthday! It's been mindblowing working with you! Cheers to a great year ahead!" "Delighted to present the first look of Vedha in #VikramVedha. Hitting the cinemas worldwide on 30th September 2022." It is noted that that Hrithik is one of the leads aside from Saif Ali Khan in the upcoming Bollywood remake of the Tamil movie of the same name starring R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi.
Madhavan himself, who played Vikram in the Tamil version, commented on the photo, "It looks fantastic and I can't wait to see the film. Hrithik looks powerful and charming at the same time." The original Tamil movie, released in 2017, was inspired by the Indian folktale "Baital Pachisi", tells the story of Vikram (Madhavan), a police inspector who sets out to track down and kill Vedha (Sethupathi), a gangster who tells Vikram three stories which changes his perception of good and evil.
