13 Sep – Actor Ke Huy Quan was elated to be reunited with Harrison Ford, nearly four decades since they worked together in "Indiana Jones 2". On 11 September, the Vietnamese-American actor shared a photo of him backstage at Disney's D23 Expo with his co-star, writing, ""I love you, Indy. Indiana Jones and Short Round reunited after 38 years." It is noted that Ke played the role of Short Round in "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom", the 1984 sequel of the original movie which sees Indiana Jones began a journey to help the desperate villagers in India to find a mystical stone and rescue their children from a black magic cult.
Short Round is Indy's Chinese sidekick, one of the highlights of the film. Aside from the movie, Ke is also known for "The Goonies" and the series, "Head of the Class". While Ford was at the D23 Expo to attend the panel for "Indiana Jones 5", Ke himself, who had been away from the limelight for a while now, was cast in the second season of "Loki", as well as being part of the upcoming Disney+ series, "American Born Chinese". He starred opposite Michelle Yeoh in "Everything Everywhere All At Once" whereupon his comeback to Hollywood has been a long time coming. In related news, Ford revealed that "Indiana Jones 5" will be his last movie in the Indy franchise.
