26 Apr – James Gunn recently revealed that he and director Taika Waititi had worked together to ensure the cohesive storylines between the latter's upcoming Marvel entry, "Thor: Love and Thunder" with his own upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3". The filmmaker shared that particular titbit after a fan asked him about the fact that Star-Lord and the gang are seen with the god of thunder in the recent teaser of the fourth Thor movie, and whether he has influence over the script of the fourth Thor film. He tweeted, "I asked for some things to be adjusted and they were adjusted."
In a previous tweet, the director shared that he and Waititi spoke before the latter wrote the movie, with both of them also reading each other's scripts. "We talked before he started writing it about where the characters are [and] where they're going [and] he read the script for Vol 3 [and] then I read his script & shared my thoughts," he explained. "Thor: Love & Thunder" begins following the events of "Avengers: Endgame" (2019), in which Thor attempts to find inner peace, but must return to action and recruit Valkyrie, Korg, and Jane Foster – the latter who has become the Mighty Thor, to stop Gorr the God Butcher from eliminating all gods.
