25 Oct - It looks like the highly-anticipated sequel to 2019's "Joker" will begin production in December this year.

The news was shared by Lawrence Sher, the cinematographer of the original film while appearing on the THR podcast, "Behind the Screen" to talk about Dwayne Johnson's "Black Adam".

Said Sher, the Todd Phillips' film is scheduled to start in "five or six weeks' time" and that it will largely be shot in sound stages in Los Angeles, as well as on location in New York where the story is set.

He also spoke about Lady Gaga joining the film as Harley Quinn, writing, "She's going to be a really cool fit for this movie and will create a similar kind of magic that Joaquin [Phoenix] brought by himself. The combination of the two will be exactly what we hope, which is exciting, and we'll find magic every day on set."

"Hopefully we'll also have a bit of madness in there. We like when there is a little bit of chaos," he added.

"Joker: Folie à Deux" is scheduled for October 2024 release.
