14 Oct – Paramount Pictures seems to have found the perfect man to succeed the funny Leslie Nielsen for its upcoming "Naked Gun" reboot, and that man is... ...Liam Neeson? It was reported that the "Taken" star is currently in talks to star in the upcoming slapstick comedy, which will be directed by Akia Schaffer of The Lonely Island fame. The director, who previously helmed "Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers" will also be collaborating with the film's scribes, Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, the duo who will be penning the script. Plot details are currently kept under wraps, with the only information given is that Neeson might be playing the son of Nielsen's Detective Frank Drebin. While his repertoire consists mostly of serious action flicks, Neeson has shown his comedy chops in movies like "The Lego Movie" and "A Million Ways to Die in the West". The original franchise, hailed from the team of the hit comedy "Airplane!", were feature spinoffs of the short-lived "Police Squad!" TV series, that had Nielsen playing a detective who lacks common sense.
