Madhavan directed and is the lead in "Rocketry: The Nambi Effect"

16 Feb – R Madhavan had fans jumping with joy as he recently revealed that his upcoming directorial effort will be released in July.

The actor shared the good news on social media with a poster of the said film, "Rocketry: The Nambi Effect", writing, "For all your love and good wishes."

The movie, to be released on 1 July worldwide, is based on the true story of S. Nambi Narayanan. A Princeton graduate, the Indian aerospace engineer-scientist worked for the Indian Space Research Organisation and was instrumental in developing the Vikas engine that would be used for the first PSLV that India launched but was falsely charged with espionage.

Aside from it being his debut as a director, Madhavan is also playing the lead role.

The upcoming movie also stars Phyllis Logan, Vincent Riotta, Ron Donaiche along with Simran, Rajit Kapur, Ravi Raghavendra, Misha Ghoshal, Gulshan Grover, Karthik Kumar, and Dinesh Prabhakar, as well as special appearances by superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Suriya.
