3 Mar – Animonsta Studios seems to have come full circle as it was revealed that its new animated series, "Mechamato" will now be aired in Japan. The news was revealed by Cartoon Network Japan, stating that the series will be coming to the channel on 27 March, complete with Japanese dub and get this - it also got Ayumu Murase ("Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V," "Devilman Crybaby") to voice the titular character Amato and Yoshitsugu Matsuoko to voice the MechaBot! Other voice actors include Ryoko Shiraishi, Emiri Kato, and Satomi Otani. It is noted that prior to the Japanese dub, the series has already been localised into several languages, including English, Korean, Indonesian, Cantonese, Tagalog and even Thai.
A prequel to Animonsta's hit series, "BoboiBoy", "Mechamato" takes place in a futuristic Malacca, where a young boy named Amato teams up with a sentient robot to take down other robots that have gone rogue. On the other hand, it was also revealed that the studio is working on a theatrical film of the said series, but has delayed its release due to the pandemic. Watch the trailer in Japanese here:
