8 Sep – "Aquaman" star Jason Momoa decided to part ways with his luscious long locks as a way to raise awareness about the single-use plastics polluting the ocean. In an Instagram video shared on 6 September, the actor can be seen getting his hair cut off and shaved as he made a funny comment about how he never felt the wind on one side of his face. "I'm doing it for single use plastics. I'm tired of these plastic bottles. We [have to] stop. plastic forks, all that [expletive]. It just goes into our land. It goes into our ocean," he expressed.
"I'm here in Hawaii right now and just seeing things in our ocean, it's just so sad. So please, anything you can do to eliminate single-use plastics in your life, help me. Plastic bottles are ridiculous." He also promoted his bottled water, Mananalu, which distributes water in aluminum bottles, in the caption, writing, "Here's to new beginnings. Let's spread the aloha. Be better at protecting our land and oceans. We need to cut single use plastics out of our lives and out of our seas. Plastic bottles, plastic bags, packaging, utensils all of it. Let's aloha our 'āina together."
