20 Jul - The prequel to "The Hunger Games" has added another big star to the upcoming big screen adaptation. According to Deadline, Peter Dinklage is set to join Lionsgate's "Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes", playing the role of Casca Highbottom, dean of the Academy. He will be joining Tom Blyth, who will play the young Coriolanus Snow and Rachel Zegler as Lucy Gray Baird. "Dean Highbottom is one of the most powerful people in Snow's life," said Francis Lawrence, director of the last three movies from the original franchise. "As the austere and vindictive face of the games, he sets the rules that will determine every aspect of Coriolanus' fate. I'm thrilled that Peter will be bringing him to life."
The upcoming movie revolves around Coriolanus Snow during his teen years, before he became the tyrannical President of Panem and the main villain of the original franchise. Dinklage, who is most popular for his role as Tyrion Lannister in "Game of Thrones", was most recently seen in the 2021 musical, "Cyrano".
