15 Feb - After much speculation about his return, it looks like Patrick Stewart is coming back as Professor Charles Xavier in the upcoming Marvel Studios' "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness". Marvel Studios released its first official trailer recently during Super Bowl LVI, which begins with Dr. Stephen Strange revealing that he dreams the same dream, until the nightmare begins. While information about the sequel's plot is scarce, revealing only several different bombastic and visually beautiful effects and scenes, fans couldn't help but get excited when they suddenly hear a familiar voice in one of the scenes saying, "We should tell him the truth."
While the person in question is not seen in the trailer, many believed it is Stewart himself, whose character died in 2017's "Logan". The clip itself gave no context as to why Professor X is a part of Doctor Strange's adventure, but many assume that Marvel is gearing up to debut the MCU's Illuminati, a fictional secret society and group of superheroes appearing in Marvel Comics.
It is noted that the original group, created by comic book writer, Brian Michael Bendis, consists of Namor, the King of the Atlantis; Tony Stark/Iron Man representing the common man, Reed Richards, Leader of Fantastic Four and representative of the science-based superhero community; Black Bolt, king of Inhumans, Doctor Strange himself, as well as Professor X as the representative of the mutant community. Whatever it is, fans will be able to find out themselves when the movie comes out on 5 May.
