25 Apr – Tamil superstar Rajinikanth and director Nelson Dilipkumar have recently dismissed rumours that their upcoming collaboration has been scrapped following the mediocre reception for the filmmaker's latest movie. Amid the negative reviews plaguing his latest title, the Vijay-starrer, "Beast", it was recently rumoured that Rajinikanth has opted out of the project that would mark his 169th film. Another rumour, on the other hand, stated that it was Nelson who was fired from the project and will be replaced by another. Without releasing any statement denying the rumour, Rajinikanth decided to change his Twitter cover photo to an image he previously used in the #Thalaivar169 announcement earlier, seemingly to stress out that the collaboration will continue. On the other hand, Nelson has also decided to update his Twitter bio as "writer/director of #Thalaivar169". It is noted that prior to the negative reviews received by "Beast", Nelson won praises for his work on "Doctor", the action flick starring Sivakarthikeyan.
