7 Apr – It was revealed that Robert Downey Jr. is set to produce two spinoffs of his hit movies, "Sherlock Holmes". According to Variety, the actor, who plays the fictional detective in the 2009 movie and again in 2011's "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" reportedly will executive produce - alongside wife Susan Downey and Amanda Burrell of Team Downey - two television shows for HBO Max that are tied to the films. No further information has been released regarding the two projects, except that it is currently in early development. Downey reportedly has been interested in expanding the Holmes universe since 2020, but nothing has come of it since then. Both Downey's Sherlock Holmes films, directed by Guy Ritchie, were box office hits, with both films combined grossing over USD 1 billion. On the other hand, it is noted that the third instalment of "Sherlock Holmes" is currently on hold, with Dexter Fletcher replacing Ritchie as director. The film was originally to come out in December 2020 and then again in December 2021, but no development has been reported.
