19 Dec – SS Rajamouli has succeeded in breaking a record held for many years by Rajinikanth by having "RRR" surpassing "Muthu" at the Japanese box office.

As reported on Times of India, the movie has now managed to become the highest grossing Indian film in Japan, as it crossed 410 million yen (approx. USD 2.99 million) at the Japanese box office.

This is 10 million yen more than "Muthu", which made 400 million yen at the box office in 1995.
