5 Oct - Ryan Coogler recently admitted that he nearly ended his film career following the death of his good friend and "Black Panther" star, Chadwick Boseman.

The filmmaker, who spoke about the actor's passing to EW recently, revealed that he and Marvel Studios had to put their heads together to decide on the future of the franchise prior to releasing "Wakanda Forever".

"I was at a point when I was like, 'I'm walking away from this business'. I didn't know if I could make another movie period, [let alone] another Black Panther movie, because it hurt a lot. I was like, 'Man, how could I open myself up to feeling like this again?'" he said.

However, Coogler said that it was one of his last conversations with Boseman that made him decide to press on.

"I was poring over a lot of our conversations that we had, towards what I realised was the end of his life. I decided that it made more sense to keep going," he added.

"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" sees the Wakandans fighting to protect their nation in the wake of the death of King T'challa (Boseman). The film also introduces the character of Namor, king of a hidden undersea nation, played by Tenoch Huerta.

"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" is set for theatrical release this November.
