14 Apr – Ryan Reynolds is extremely proud after hearing that child actor Walker Scobell, his co-star in "The Adam Project", has been cast in the titular role of Disney+'s "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" series. The actor, who plays the role of the adult version to Scobell's Adam Reed character in the said Netflix film, tweeted an image of Scobell from the aforementioned movie on Twitter and wrote, "I guess this makes me older Percy Jackson?" "Congrats Walker Scobell. You were always a demigod in my mind," he added.
It is noted that Reynolds and "The Adam Project" director Shaun Levy previously expressed awe over Scobell's talent in acting, with the latter saying that the child star got the job for his ability to emulate Reynolds' mannerism to a T. "In the same way that you can't direct someone to be funny, you also can't direct someone to be more Ryan Reynolds-ish... We found Walker who was authentic, utterly inexperienced and super grounded and real as a result," said Levy. "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" is set to begin filming in June 2022.
