Sandra Bullock reconsidering "no-sequel" position for "The Lost City"

To get to work with these two hotties again, why not?
To get to work with these two hotties again, why not?

16 Mar – Although she once stressed that she would never do another sequel to her hit movies ever again, Sandra Bullock recently admitted that she has now changed her mind about that.

The actress, who spoke to the media at the SXSW Film Festival to promote her new movie, "The Lost City", stated that she is now reconsidering her position after working with her producing partner Liza Chasin.

"I had a 'no sequel' rule when I didn't have the benefit of fighting for what I really wanted. I feel like, in my old age, I'm learning to fight for the things that I think would be best on screen, and I don't care who comes away from the meeting angry," Bullock said. "The beauty of working with Liza, we are type A. We've known each other since the beginning of time. We both take what we do very seriously. We know that no one pays attention to us usually because we're women. No one thinks that [an] actress is really going to be a producer, so that's good, they look away and ignore you."

Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum star in "The Lost City"

As to whether she would say yes to a sequel to the upcoming "The Lost City", Bullock stated that she would be open to it if there is a good script.

"We had Dana Fox as a writer. If Dana Fox could come up with something brilliant... there you go," she said.

"Miss Congeniality 2" was panned by critics and audiences alike

It is noted that Bullock, who had done "Speed 2" and "Miss Congeniality 2" (both were critically panned), first said no-no to a sequel in 2013, when asked whether she would return for "The Heat 2" with Melissa McCarthy if such a project is greenlighted.

"I'm not doing a sequel to 'The Heat'," she said at the time. "I've done two sequels. They were horrible. What Melissa and I had was beautiful. We might do another film together. I think we should do a silent film together."

"The Lost City" will hit the cinemas on 25 March.
