6 Jul - After Tim Allen previously having revealed his thoughts about the new Disney-Pixar movie, "Lightyear", it is co-star Tom Hanks' turn to express his bafflement over the whole thing.

Speaking to The Independent to promote his new movie, "Elvis", Hanks stated that he previously thought that his said movie would go head-to-head with Allen's movie at the box office.

"How about that? I actually wanted to go head-to-head with Tim Allen and then they didn't let Tim Allen do it. I don't understand that," he said.

When mentioned about the studio replacing Allen with "Captain America" star Chris Evans, who voices Buzz Lightyear in the animated feature, Hanks responded, "Here's the thing: I want to go back in the theatre with a bunch of strangers and leave with something in common. That's what I want to do and, going to see a movie with [Allen] – I'm looking forward to that."

In a previous interview, Allen, who has voiced Buzz since the first "Toy Story" movie in 1995, stated that he stayed out of the conversation about the new film as it has nothing to do with his version of the character.

"Really, Hanks and I, well, there's really no Toy Story Buzz without Woody .... I'm a plot guy. This was done in 1997, it seemed to be a big adventure story and, as I see, it's not a big adventure story. It's a wonderful story, it just doesn't seem to have any connection to the toy," he added.
