19 May – Alec Baldwin, who was previously plagued by the shooting incident at his "Rust" movie set, has now joined the cast of a new movie, which will be about... ...guns. The actor is set to play the role of Kent State University president Robert I. White in "Kent State", a movie that will depict the tragic events of 4 May 1970, when four unarmed university students were shot and killed by the National Guard during a campus protest against the Vietnam War. Nine other students were wounded.
The movie is currently in pre-production, with screenwriter Karen Slade making her directorial debut. Baldwin has just recently completed filming "Rust", the Western movie that had to halt production earlier following the fatal shooting of its cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on set.
