6 Sep - It might not have made a big dent at the box office following its release earlier this year, but it looks like "Anwar: The Untold Story" is getting a second chance via OTT platform. The biopic, which depicted the life of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim as he faced political turmoil in the '90s, dethroned Russell Crowe's "The Pope's Exorcist" as the top most watched movies locally on Netflix. Producer Zunar, or real name Zulkiflee Anwar Haq, stated that he saw it as a positive thing. "Unlike other commercial movies, a biopic has to be watched multiple times to understand the message. To me, it was the right thing to release it on Netflix, because viewers are able to watch the movie multiple times," he said.
The film, released in May this year, stars Farid Kamil as Anwar Ibrahim, Acha Septriasa as Wan Azizah, and Hasnul Rahmat as Mahathir Mohamad among others.
