9 May – The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim admitted that he had mixed emotions watching the story of his life on the big screen. Anwar, who appeared at the premiere of "Anwar: The Untold Story" along with wife and fellow politician Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, stated that the movie reminded him of all the struggles he had to go through in the past after he was sacked as the Deputy Prime Minister back in 1998. "I am only human. I feel too, but just like my wife said in the movie, we have to control it and not to show our sadness to the public. When I was in prison, I only cried once, and that was when my mother passed away. That one I couldn't control. But for the most part, I was laughing in tears," he said.
