3 Jul – Director Christopher McQuarrie recently admitted that Tom Cruise's bravery when it comes to stunts has made the crew became more adventurous too. The filmmaker, who helmed Cruise's "Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One", spoke about the now viral speed-flying stunt that Cruise did himself for the movie, saying, "With Tom there are no limits. So, we've become a little bit more adventurous every time." Calling it one of the most dangerous sports in the world, McQuarrie stated that speed-flying, which combines the elements of paragliding to quickly descend heights such as mountains, is not like skydiving at all due to its unpredictable nature.
In the same video, Cruise can be heard explaining the stunt, saying, "We're going to do spirals, and we're landing at an incredibly high speed, over 80 kilometers an hour." McQuarrie added that although it looks quite beautiful when he is flying very close to rocks, the crew was in absolute terror behind the scenes. They also had to think of the camera placements to take the best shots of the actor. "It is truly a one-of-a-kind adventure," he added. "Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One" will be released on 12 July.
