27 Nov – "magiK", the latest feature film from 42nd Pictures Sdn Bhd - a Malaysian production company started by husband and wife team, Yasu Tanaka and Bea Tanaka - had completed its 2-month Road Trip Screenings in 7 locations all over Malaysia including Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu and Sungai Petani from September till October.

Due for its theatrical release on 30 November, the Road Trip Screenings are intended for director/script writer Yasu Tanaka and producer Bea Tanaka to promote and share "magiK" with local audiences.

Starring Beto Kusyairy, Nadia Aqilah, Nam Ron, and young star Qisya Hairulzain, "magiK' is a mixed genre of fantasy and family drama. The film tells the story of a deaf girl who can communicate with fireflies, and invites the audience to see and experience the deaf community in a positive way.

Yasu shares that Bea was a teacher for the deaf for 15 years and has good connections to the deaf community.

Bea states that they would like to share "magiK" with non-urban societies including the deaf community. The film is about village life and the villagers in Kampung Kuantan, and "we would like to share it with part of our target audience who are outside of urban areas with this Road Trip Screening concept. We are very grateful to PORT Ipoh, that is sponsoring the venue and screenings in Ipoh. For the screenings in Ipoh, we are working with Persatuan Orang Pekak Perak (POPP) to reach out to the deaf community. We also invited some special education schools in Ipoh, working closely with JPN Perak."

"magiK' will be released in Malaysian cinemas on 30 November.
