18 Sep – After 27 years of marriage, it was revealed that Hugh Jackman and wife Deborra-Lee Furness are ending things between them. In a statement released by the two parties, they stated, "We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth."
"Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives."
Jackman and Furness also stressed that that is the only statement they will make about the divorce. The couple are parents to 23-year-old son Oscar and 18-year-old daughter Ava; both were adopted. They met in 1995, filming the Australian TV series, "Corelli", with Furness being the more established actress at the time. They tied the knot the following year when Jackman was 28 and she was 41. Back in April, Jackman took to social media on their 27th wedding anniversary and wrote, "27 YEARS!! I love you so much. Together we have created a beautiful family. And life. Your laughter, your spirit, generosity, humor, cheekiness, courage and loyalty are an incredible gift to me. I love you with all my heart." Both were last photographed together in an official event at the Met Gala back in May.
