5 May – Jamie Foxx has finally broken his silence following his recent hospitalisation with a short message on social media. On 3 May, the actor posted on Instagram, "Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed," before thanking Nick Cannon on Instagram Story for taking over and filling in for him on his game show, "Beat Shazam". "Appreciate ya, my boy. See you all soon," he wrote, tagging Cannon in the post as well. Daughter Corinne Foxx previously revealed to the public about the actor's hospitalisation back on 12 April, writing, "We wanted to share that my father Jamie Foxx experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily due to quick action and great care he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time." She did not mention, however, what ailed her father.
On the other hand, it is revealed that Foxx's new movie, "Back in Action" has continued filming while he is in recuperation, with stand-ins and body doubles helping out. The movie co-stars Jamie Demetriou, Andrew Scott, and Cameron Diaz, the latter who had not filmed a movie for nearly a decade.
