13 Jan – Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of Elvis and his ex-wife Priscilla Presley, has died on 12 January at 54 years old. The tragic news was announced by her mother. "It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us," Priscilla Presley said. "She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss," Priscilla Presley said in a statement. Lisa Marie was found unresponsive at her home in Calabasas, California and was rushed to hospital on 12 January. Her mother kept mum and did not mention about the details about the possible cause of death though media reports indicated that she had suffered a cardiac arrest.
Lisa Marie had just attended the 80th annual Golden Globe Awards, just two days before her passing, where Austin Butler won the award for best actor in a dramatic motion picture, "Elvis." Lisa Marie was also well known for her high-profile marriages to the Prince of Pop legend Michael Jackson, actor Nicholas Cage and musicians Danny Keough and Michael Lockwood.
