9 Nov – Despite Hollywood is still facing the SAG-AFTRA strike, it was revealed that Nintendo is trudging on with the live-action adaptation of its hit video game, "The Legend of Zelda".

Nintendo is reported to be collaborating with Sony Pictures for the upcoming movie, with Wes Ball ("Maze Runner") to helm the project.


In a statement released on X, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto said, "I have been working on the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda for many years now with Avi Arad, who has produced many mega hit films... We have now officially started the development of the film with Nintendo itself heavily involved in the production. It will take time until its completion, but I hope you look forward to seeing it."

"Zelda" was first released in 1986, and tells the tale of a boy named Link who must save the Kingdom of Hyrule and its princess, Zelda by defeating the evil Ganon.

Prior to the news, it was rumoured that Nintendo was working on a Zelda project with Netflix.
