China's "No More Bets" breaks RM10 million in Malaysia

20 Sep – "No More Bets" has become the first mainland movie to break RM10 million at the Malaysian box office.

The movie, which was released here on 7 September, stars Lay Zhang, Gina Chen Jin, and Yong Mei among others, and tells the story of two people being trafficked to overseas and forced to defraud online.

Speaking about the success, the movie's rep stated that the film encourages people to face challenges when they become victims of cybercrime.

"No More Bets" is not just a movie but a manifestation of social responsibility. It reminds people to always be vigilant and wary of online scams," the rep stated.

The movie previously raked in more than RMB 500 million in just three days from advanced screenings in China, and had since accumulated more than RMB 3 billion at the box office.
