12 Jul – Should you watch Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" or the Margot Robbie-starrer "Barbie" this coming 20 July? According to the "Barbie" team, you should just watch both. Director Greta Gerwig was recently asked about the ridiculous rivalry started by fans between the two absolutely different movies at the premiere of her latest directorial effort, to which she responded, ""It's all love - double up, double up twice." "I think you've got to see what the experience is, Barbie then Oppenheimer, Oppenheimer then Barbie. I think you've got to take all of the journeys."
Meanwhile, "Barbie" co-star Issa Rae stated that she found the competition hilarious due to the clashing nature of the two movies. "I love that there's solidarity though where people tried to pit us against one another but now it's turned into like a double-feature situation. Obviously, you should see Oppenheimer first and then cleanse your palate with Barbie," she said. Her reason for choosing "Oppenheimer" first then "Barbie"? "It's about an atomic bomb, people are gonna die. I want to end my weekend, I want to have mimosas and drinks and cocktails after Barbie, I don't want to like sulk. That's just my plan, everybody else... as long as you're seeing Barbie I don't care," the actress added. Both movies will be released in cinemas in Malaysia on 20 July.
