8 Dec – P. Ramlee's biopic is currently in the works by a Singapore-Malaysia production company, Inkhouse Pictures and Inkhouse Media Pte Ltd. Its managing director, Datuk Khairul Anwar Salleh shared the good news recently, saying that the biopic, titled, "P. Ramlee - Jeritan Batinku" will explore the more hidden aspects of the legendary filmmaker's life. "Fifty years since his passing, he remains the everlasting icon, respected for his huge talent and his movies. Deemed as a cultural icon, P. Ramlee is a talented entertainer who captivated the audience with his acting, directing, singing and songwriting prowess. His unparalleled comedy and ability to connect with people left an indelible impression on both Malaysian and Singaporean cinema and music. P.Ramlee - Jeritan Batinku' will reveal the man behind the legend," he said in a statement.
Written by actor-director Adlin Aman Ramlie, whose mother Ruminah Sidek and late father AR Tompel have worked with the icon in the past, will also trace P. Ramlee (real name Teuku Zakaria bin Teuku Nyak Puteh) from his humble beginnings to his rise in stardom. "We would like to present the P.Ramlee that we never knew. Someone who was brave, who challenged himself, and who was very humane," said Adlin.
