16 Aug - Touted as one of the best horror movies this year, it was revealed that the new horror flick, "Rahsia" has made RM 2.2 million at the box office to-date. The news was shared by Astro Shaw on 15 August, in a social media post that read, "Praise be to God. The horror film RAHSIA managed to collect RM2.2 MILLION within five days of release! Thanks to all. Let's storm the stage to uncover the SECRET..."
The movie, which was released in theatres on 10 August, is a remake of a 1987 movie of the same name starring Shukery Hashim and Noorkumalasari, which tells the story of a mother who is determined to solve the mystery of her son's disappearance, believing that he has been taken by an otherworldly creature.
Interestingly, the director of the 2023 movie is Shamyl Othman, who is the son of the original director, Othman Hafsham. On the other hand, the script was written by "One Cent Thief" writer, Alfie Palermo. The reboot of "Rahsia" features main actors Nabila Huda and Fikry Ibrahim who play the roles of Ramlah and Hamdan - originally played by Noorkumalasari and Shukery Hashim. They are supported by a stellar cast line-up that include Eman Manan, Marsha Milan, Rashidi Ishak, Qistina Raisah, Syed Ali Murtadha, Mislina Mustaffa, Aloy Paradoks and Nabil Zakaria, in addition to special appearances by Othman Hafsham and Susan Lankester.
