25 Jan – It was reported that Rajinikanth's upcoming new movie, "Jailer" will not be released this summer as previously expected.

Earlier, it was rumoured that the movie will be facing competition from Mani Ratnam's "Ponniyin Selvan 2", as both will likely be released in summer 2023.

However, "Ponniyin Selvan 2" later announced its release date to be 28 April 2023, while "Jailer" may be postponing the tentative schedule as it is still in its last phase of shooting.

Sources claimed that producers of the Nelson Dilipkumar film do not want to rush through post-production to meet the release date, and hope to have more time to work on the ambitious film.

It is now rumoured that the movie will now be released in August, and will be competing with Salman Khan's two movies, "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan" and "Tiger 3".
