12 Jan – SS Rajamouli's "RRR" has successfully become the first Indian movie to win a Golden Globe, albeit in the music category.

The movie won Best Original Song for "Naatu Naatu", which was composed by MM Keeravaani and written by Rahul Sipligunj, besting other contenders including Taylor Swift's "Carolina" ("Where the Crawdad's Sings"), Rihanna's "Lift Me Up" for "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever", and Lady Gaga - the latter who co-wrote "Hold my Hand" with Bloodpop and Benjamin Rice for "Top Gun: Maverick".

The good news was celebrated by the team, including lead star NT Rama Rao, who expressed, "Congratulations Sirji on your well-deserved #GoldenGlobes award! I've danced to many songs throughout my career but #NaatuNaatu will forever stay close to my heart..."

It is noted that "Naatu Naatu" is also shortlisted for the Oscars 2023 under the Original Song category.
